Raquel D. Ruano is the City Attorney for the City of Lawrence. She joined in 2013 and represents the City of Lawrence primarily in employment cases, personal injury defense and civil rights lawsuits. Prior to joining the City of Lawrence, Raquel was a sole practitioner handling criminal defense cases, handled municipal cases for the City of Boston as an Assistant Corporation Counsel, and was a prosecutor for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Raquel is a member and on the Executive Board of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys. She received her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and her J.D. from Boston College Law School.
