Karen B. BobadillaKaren B. Bobadilla is a dual licensed attorney in Peru and in Massachusetts. She became a Department of Justice Accredited Representative in 2012, becoming one of the few practitioners on the state to become fully accredited and certified to represent individuals before the immigration court at the Executive Office of Immigration Review. She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in January 2021. Attorney Bobadilla graduated with a Masters of Law (LL.M.) with a concentration in Human Rights at Northeastern University in 2016, while working full time.

At De Novo she represents low-income individuals in humanitarian immigration cases who have been persecuted in their home countries or have been victims of abuse or crimes in their home countries or in the U.S.

Since 2012 she has specialized in Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and U Visa petitions and Special Immigrant Juveniles before USCIS and the Immigration Court. Since admitted to the Massachusetts Bar she is focusing primarily on working with minors in their Probate and Family Court, USCIS and Immigration Court cases. She keeps a handful of asylum cases.

Attorney Bobadilla is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the AILA New England Chapter, the Boston Bar Association (BBA), the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA), Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA), the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA).

Attorney Bobadilla sits on the executive board of MAHA, volunteers as a volunteer coach for bar takers and recently joined the New Lawyers Forum as a liaison to the Immigration Section at the Boston Bar Association.

Ms. Bobadilla is integrally involved in the local community. She sits on numerous legal committees: Immigration Coalition of Massachusetts, U, T visa workgroup, SIJ workgroup, SIJ End the backlog coalition. Attorney Bobadilla received the TUMI USA Award in 2020 in the citizenship category for her efforts in helping immigrants, domestic violence survivors, and asylum seekers in Massachusetts.

The annual TUMI USA Award recognizes Peruvian immigrants who have overcome life challenges, worked tirelessly at their profession, and demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service.
