John LozadaJohn Lozada is the Equity & Inclusion Director for the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), leading the effort to build fairness and respect within CPCS and in the work to defend indigent individuals, whether as adults or youth, on matters that require the assignment of counsel. As Director of Civil Rights and Manager of Federal Programs for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), John directed efforts to comply with federal and state laws protecting people based on race, color, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, religious creed and/or ancestry across all MassDOT/MBTA programs, services and activities.

Mr. Lozada is an experienced attorney who has served in government and private capacities, focusing on civil rights in employment, education and transportation, as well as general civil law. He was raised in East Harlem, New York, is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of California - Hastings College of the Law, and likes to fish, ride bicycle, read and cook.
